fentanyl test strips

Fentanyl Test Strips

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid. It can be up to 100 times stronger than morphine and up to 50 times stronger than heroin. Fentanyl test strips provide a one-step method for detecting Fentanyl in a drug sample. They are highly accurate, but do not provide information about other cuts in the sample.

xylazine test strips

Xylazine Test Strips

Xylazine is an animal tranquilizer that is being cut into the drug supply. When Xylazine is mixed with other drugs (like fentanyl, heroin, or a benzo), the chance of an overdose goes up. Additionally, Xylazine is linked with severe wounds, which spread and worsen very quickly. Xylazine test strips are still being tested to see if they work well enough to detect cuts in the drug supply. The STASH ID team at NHSSP may use a xylazine test strip in combination with FTIR to see if your substance contains xylazine. Xylazine does not respond to Narcan, if you suspect someone is overdosing call 911, use Narcan, and if the person is still not breathing, give rescue breaths.
